His Beatitude Patriarch John X received a delegation from the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs headed by Mr. Tristan Azbej, State Secretary for the Aid of Persecuted Christians and responsible for Hungarian assistance in the Office of the Hungarian Prime Minister.

The delegation discussed the situation of the Church amid the general changes taking place in the region, and particularly Syria. His Beatitude emphasized the pivotal role of the Church in building communities, and the role that all groups can play in participating to shape the future of Syria. He also expressed the Church’s appreciation for the moral and humanitarian support of the Hungarian government to the Christian presence.
