His Beatitude John X, Greek Orthodox Patriarch of Antioch and All the East, received Greek Defense Minister Nikolaos Dendias and his delegation at the patriarchal residence in Balamand. Minister Dendias conveyed condolences on behalf of Greece’s government and people for the martyrs of Saint Elias Church – Douweila. He highlighted Greece’s support for the Church of Antioch during these difficult times in the Middle East. The meeting was also an opportunity to review and discuss channels of communication and cooperation. For his part, His Beatitude thanked the Minister for his initiative, reaffirming the deep historical ties between Greece and the Church of Antioch.
